A joint is where two bones meet — and its shape decides how it moves. Each of the six synovial types gets one dial per axis of freedom: a hinge has one, a wrist two, a shoulder three. Move each to its real limit and watch the ligaments pull taut. Degrees are the standard AAOS reference values.
