Why Ruth?

You don't need to know the verse. Just say what's on your heart.

Most of us have had a question we couldn't answer, or a heavy heart and no idea where in the Bible to look. Ruth is built for exactly that moment: type it in your own words, and she finds the passages that speak to it — from the whole Bible and seventeen centuries of trusted Christian writing.

Ruth has no AI writing answers and does no keyword matching. She understands what you mean and points you to the real text — she never speaks for God, only carries you to where He already spoke.

One honest exception, and we would rather you heard it here. On about twenty subjects, search alone hands you whatever sounds nearest — and on some questions that is a ceremonial-purity law that reads like a verdict on your life. So on those subjects Ruth now puts a short note above the verses: what the commonly-quoted text is actually about, which passages the churches reason from, and where they disagree. It is written by us, marked as ours on the card, and it is neither Scripture nor a ruling — and it hides nothing: every verse the search found is still there beneath it, unchanged.

Where we lean, the card says we lean and names the churches that read it differently. On subjects where careful Christians genuinely disagree — women in ministry, baptism, speaking in tongues, the end times — Ruth deliberately takes no side, says so, and sets out where the major traditions actually stand, each in its own words. You can also tell her which tradition you read from: that reorders the readings and puts yours first, and it never removes the others.

"But I don't need this…"

Fair — Ruth isn't for everyone. But here's what she answers to the most common doubts:

"I already have a Bible."So do we — Ruth points you back to it. She's for the moments you can't recall the verse, or want to see everything Scripture says on a theme across all 66 books in seconds. And she brings a shelf of trusted classics — Augustine, Bunyan, the creeds — that most of us never had.
"I'll just ask ChatGPT."ChatGPT invents; Ruth never does. If you're going to read words to your mother, or lean your own weight on them, they should be real — not a plausible-sounding paraphrase a machine produced.
"So Ruth has opinions now?"On a few subjects, yes — and she tells you so on the card, every time. The alternative was worse: staying silent and letting a purity law about bodily discharge be the first thing someone reads after asking whether God still loves them. What we will not do is hide it. A note never replaces a verse, never claims to be Scripture, and on the questions where the churches genuinely differ it takes no side and shows you all of them.
"I'll Google it."Google needs the right keywords and answers with strangers' opinions and ads. Ruth needs only your own words and answers with the text itself.
