Every artwork in Art Through Time was made by an artist who died before 1950 and is dated 1929 or earlier — the paintings themselves are in the public domain worldwide and in the US. Images are faithful reproductions served from Wikimedia Commons; the license tag below is what Commons reports for each reproduction file (a few photographers license their reproduction CC BY / CC BY-SA — attribution is on the linked file page).
Artist biographies and painting descriptions are excerpts from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0), linked from every placard. The timeline stops at early abstraction on purpose: later movements (Surrealism, Pop Art…) are still under copyright. 3D engine: three.js r165, MIT license. Room textures and sounds are generated procedurally — nothing else to license.
